It is a comprehensive project because it covers many different aspects contributing to the learning of the deaf: different age groups, varied communication systems (sign language, oral language), compulsory and non-compulsory studies, learning habits and techniques, social skills development, etc. The Education Department manages the Comprehensive Educational Project for Deaf People.
ASORNA develops educational activities since 1988, when supporting lessons for deaf students in compulsory studies started. In 2000 reading and writing workshops for adults emerged, and three years later the need to create a literacy program (at sign language and Castilian) for deaf immigrants arises. The most recent activity is the Deaf Parents Workshop, which became operational in 2006 with an excellent response.
