Employment Service for Deaf People, SILPES

What is SILPES?

The SILPES is the Employment Service for Deaf People, it is a highly specialized service which attends Deaf People needs and features into the working environment. SILPES has external coordination with companies, state employment services and social services; and internal coordination with our Social Guidance Service, SILSE and ASORNA’s Education Department.

It emerged in 2002, driven by the National Confederation of Deaf People, in order to facilitate Deaf People integration into the labor market on equal terms, fostering a successful participation in both social and community life.

Since then, many companies, institutions, associations, unions, and, of course, hearing impaired people have been using their services.

Who can access to the SILPES?

Anybody with disability certificate (due to hearing loss or any other additional disability). Being an ASORNA’s member is not required.
Any company with job offers and/or special training needs.

Deaf People features information (related on working environment), job offers managing, hiring disabled people bonus, and job adaptations advice.
