SILSE is the ASORNA’s Sign Language Interpreters Service, and it is made up of qualified and skilled professionals. The service is state subsidized and sponsorized by companies and its main goal is to overcome communication barriers between signing and non-signing people.
SILSE also covers communication guide services for deaf blind users.
The service became operational in 1988. SILSE is experienced in a wide range of interpreting services including those in which deaf blind people are involved. It is the only one provided in Navarre and its record has clearly risen since the number of in person services attended from 2003 to 2008 reveals an increase of 261, 44 %.
Interpreting services can be required by any deaf, deaf-blind or hearing person, and any public institution or company.
Services must be requested 48 hours in advanced for a working day service and two weeks beforehand for weekend or bank day’s ones. Application ways:
